Eleni Lambris recorded under four different names, once appearing on record with one name on the A side and another on the B side.

Under the name Eleni Lambris, she recorded fine cuts of late rebetiko sides, working with Vasilis Tsitsanis, Markos Vamvakaris, Manolis Hiotis and others in the late 1940s and 1950s.

At the same time, as Elsa Lambos, she recorded more popular, light songs, occasionally from movie soundtracks. Some rebetiko and folk songs were also recorded as Litsa Lambridou. And on some of her recordings with composer Manos Hadjidakis she appears as Elsa Margaritis.

Eleni Lambris was her birth name. She was born in 1923, so would have been 26 when she first appeared on record in 1949. She married businessman Thomas Margaritis, giving rise to her name when she recorded with Hadjidakis. Litsa Lambridiou is the name she appeared to use mostly with Hiotis.

Lambiri is said to have recorded more than 200 songs between 1949 and 1968, mostly as first voice. (She also appeared in one movie, I swore revenge, in 1952.)

The freshwater mangas, was written by Tsitsanis and recorded with Tsitsanis and Vamvakaris as second and third voice. It was one of her first recordings in 1949 and displays her full, rich voice as well as her ability to harmonize and blend with other singers.
